Construction is completed at The Lacy at South Main, a 318-unit apartment residence in Kennesaw, Georgia. McShane Construction Company built the development on behalf of repeat client Highpoint Development.

Positioned on 19 acres in downtown Kennesaw, Georgia, The Lacy at South Main is part of a greater mixed-use community that also incorporates 44 townhomes, a retail outparcel, and a linear park space. Standing at four stories tall, the wood framed building boasts a façade of brick and fiber cement siding. There is also a precast parking garage attached to the building.

Offered in expansive one- to three-bedroom floorplans, units feature wood-inspired plank flooring, elevated ceilings and doors, energy-efficient LED lighting, and a private balcony or patio. The kitchens will boast energy-efficient stainless-steel appliances, large kitchen islands, modern cabinetry, and tile backsplashes.

On-site amenities include a 24-hour fitness center, coffee bar, coworking spaces, and lounge. Outside, residents can enjoy a swimming pool, two courtyards, grilling stations, and a pet park. The site also offers controlled-access parking and electric vehicle charging stations.

The architect of record is Niles Bolton Associates.

Construction is completed at Northbend, a 310-unit community featuring three garden-style apartment buildings in Tempe, Arizona. McShane Construction Company built the development on behalf of repeat clients Banyan Residential and Milhaus.

Designed by Todd & Associates, the property offers generous amenity space, including a 4,300-square-foot clubhouse. Residents can enjoy a resort-style pool and sun deck, a fully equipped fitness center and yoga studio, a trading post with outdoor equipment loans, and outdoor spaces including a courtyard with fire pits, an entertainment lawn, and a dog park overlooking downtown Tempe.

Each unit boasts an open-concept floor plan complemented by nine-foot ceilings and large windows. Residents can choose from multiple finish options and will find high-end features such as large kitchen islands, quartz countertops, stainless-steel appliances, wood-style flooring, and designer light fixtures. Additional amenities include keyless entry systems, in-unit washers and dryers, and walk-in closets. Select units offer courtyard, pool, or city views and private patios or balconies.

The property also boasts a small number of live-work units providing separate “store front” style entrances for small business owners.

The garden-style buildings integrate wood frame construction with facades of stucco, thin brick, and wood-look metal lattice.

McShane Construction Company was selected by Land by Label to build The Apiary, a two-building, 248-unit apartment development in West Allis, Wisconsin.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Land by Label on The Apiary, a fantastic addition to West Allis that will provide residents with high-end amenities and thoughtfully designed living spaces,” commented Dave Meadows, Vice President & Regional Manager at McShane. “We’re proud to contribute our expertise in multi-family construction to this project.”

Positioned on a 4.6-acre site at 1070 S. 40th Street, The Apiary will feature two podium-style buildings with four stories of wood framing atop a two-story parking garage with one subgrade level. A two-story amenity space connects the two buildings. The buildings’ exteriors will integrate a mix of brick, exposed concrete, and wood-tone Hardie board.

Within the two-story amenity space, residents will have access to a clubroom, concierge, sports bar, fitness center, and golf simulator. Outside, a courtyard will house a swimming pool and grill area.

All units will feature high-end finishes including stainless-steel Whirlpool appliances, quartz countertops, tile backsplashes, luxury vinyl plank flooring in the common areas, and carpeted bedrooms.

Located on the site of a former manufacturing campus, McShane will perform environmental remediation prior to beginning construction of the buildings.

Completion of The Apiary is scheduled for October 2026. AG Architecture is the architect of record.

McShane Ashlaur Joint Venture (comprised of McShane Construction Company and Ashlaur Construction) completed the construction of The Foglia Residences for clients Brinshore Development and The Chicago Lighthouse. Located in Chicago, the multi-family development incorporates 76 affordable units for residents who are blind, visually impaired, disabled, and veterans. The development is the first Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) building in the nation for the blind community.

“We are extremely proud to deliver this monumental development for Brinshore and The Chicago Lighthouse,” stated David J. Rintz, Regional Vice President – Multi-Family at McShane. “Thanks to their tireless efforts, multiple underserved populations have access to high-quality housing that meets their needs at an affordable rate.”

Situated on a site adjacent to The Chicago Lighthouse’s center in the Illinois Medical District, the podium-style building features nine stories with three levels of parking, six levels of units, and first-floor retail space. The exterior integrates a mix of perforated metal panels, brick veneer, and fiber cement siding. At roof level, back-lit translucent panels symbolize a lighthouse.

Units are offered in studio, one-, and two-bedroom floorplans that provide accessible, independent living for qualifying low-income households. Features include solid surface kitchen countertops for added durability, Energy Star appliances with front controls and tactile operation, WaterSense plumbing fixtures, cultured marble vanities, and dimmable lighting.

Additionally, there is contrasting flooring in front of the kitchen cabinets, and the finishes for appliances, cabinets, hardware, and countertops were selected to provide higher contrast for those with limited sight. Two-bedroom units also offer in-unit washers and dryers.

Tenant amenities include a fitness center, community room, and fourth-floor rooftop terrace. Outside, residents can enjoy a courtyard with a dog run and a playground.

To make the residence fully accessible for its tenants, the common areas offer contrasting colors, lit braille unit signage, handrails on both sides of the corridors, braille wallpaper, braille numbering on the mailboxes, contrasting flooring in front of unit doors, and accessible elevators with audible signals. Additionally, the property has black light switches, outlets, and window controls to contrast with white walls throughout.

As part of the project, McShane Ashlaur brought all right-of-way sidewalks to meet ADA compliance.

The Foglia Residences was designed to achieve Enterprise Green Communities Certification. LBBA is the architect.

McShane Construction Company’s Wisconsin regional team was selected to build Azura Mukwonago, a three-building, 72-unit assisted living and memory care residence in Mukwonago, Wisconsin, for Azura Living.

Positioned on a 6.4-acre site, the property will feature two assisted living buildings and one memory care building. The single-story wood frame buildings’ exteriors will integrate full stone veneer masonry and Hardie board. There will also be a barn on the site.

Units will offer resilient flooring, ceramic tile bathrooms, quartz countertops, SMART cabinets, and roller shades.

In addition to dining rooms, kitchens, community rooms, and sunrooms, residents will have access to a fitness area, spa, and salon. Outside, residents will be able to enjoy a community garden, walking paths, putting greens, bocce ball courts, and extensive courtyard amenities.

Construction of Azura Mukwonago is scheduled to be completed in December 2025. EUA is the architect.

McShane Construction Company’s Southeast regional team was selected by repeat client National Church Residences to build Crossing Pointe, an 80-unit affordable senior living community in Union City, Georgia.

“We’re honored to partner with National Church Residences on another affordable senior residence,” commented Dave Meadows, Vice President & Regional Manager at McShane. “In 2021, we delivered True Light Haven in Atlanta, and we’re excited to build on our success there with Crossing Pointe.”

Designed by Foley Design, the four-story wood frame building will be positioned on a 4.5-acre site at 7422 Red Oak Road. The building’s façade will integrate a mix of brick veneer and siding.

Each unit features one bedroom and one bathroom, solid surface countertops and black appliances in the kitchen, zero threshold showers, and luxury vinyl plank flooring throughout. Amenities include a community room with a warming kitchen, laundry room, mail room, computer center, and fitness room.

Designed to achieve National Green Building Standard Bronze Certification, the property incorporates sustainable materials and features including Energy Star dishwashers and washing machines, water-efficient bath accessories, and composite cabinetry.

Completion of Crossing Pointe is expected for December 2025.

Construction is completed at The Derby in Madison, Wisconsin. McShane Construction Company provided design-assist construction services on behalf of repeat client Lincoln Avenue Communities. The affordable housing community integrates 70 apartments and 1,100 square feet of ground-floor office space for a local community group.

“We’re proud to deliver this beautiful development for Lincoln Avenue Communities,” commented Alison Gorham, Vice President & Director of Wisconsin Operations. “The Derby integrates luxury finishes and great amenities that make the residence a fantastic option for those seeking affordable housing in Madison.”

Units are offered with one to three bedrooms and boast stainless steel kitchen appliances, shaker-style cabinets, granite countertops, luxury vinyl plank flooring, and in-unit washers and dryers. First-floor units offer private patios, and units on floors two through four have private balconies. Fourteen of the units meet Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) accessibility requirements.

“Lincoln Avenue Communities is thrilled to again partner with McShane Construction,” said Kevin McDonell, LAC Vice President and Regional Project Partner. “We can’t thank McShane enough for delivering such high-quality, affordable homes for Madison residents.”

The building boasts 2,600 square feet of amenity space including a common area with a full kitchen, a fitness room, a shared laundry room, outdoor gathering space, a kids’ play place and playground, and a dog park. The first-floor office suite incorporates three private offices, a conference room, community service facility, classroom, and a reception and work area.

Designed by Knothe & Bruce Architects, the building features four stories of wood frame construction atop an underground precast parking garage. The exterior façade combines composite lap and panel siding with brick veneer.

The project is Enterprise Green Communities Certified and integrates Energy Star rated appliances and a full solar array system on the roof to power the common areas.

McShane Construction Company was selected by Vermilion Development to build Lock Lane Apartments, a 309-unit multi-family community in Madison, Wisconsin.

“We are proud to partner with Vermilion on this exciting project,” commented Alison Gorham, Vice President at McShane. “Located next to a large public park, river boat launch, and Lake Mendota with easy access to downtown Madison, Lock Lane Apartments will offer a great balance between outdoor connection and modern, downtown living.”

Located on an 8.5-acre site adjacent to Tenney Park, the development will integrate two five-story podium-style buildings with a total of 289 units and three two-story townhome buildings with 20 units. The podium buildings will feature four levels of wood framing atop a two-level precast parking garage. The buildings’ facades will incorporate an attractive mix of lap siding and brick.

Residents will enjoy balconies, quartz countertops, in-unit washer/dryers, and spacious closets. Many units will offer lake, park, or river views.

Amenities will include large green roof amenity areas on the podium buildings, fitness centers, 5th floor club rooms and common balconies, co-working office spaces, conference rooms, and heated vehicle and bike parking. Additionally, the site will offer a fenced dog run, community gardens, and access to both the lake and riverfront.

The project was designed in compliance with several Focus on Energy initiatives.

“In this difficult capital raising environment, Vermilion is delighted to partner with Quartz Lake Capital and Clarion Partners to finance this project and bring much needed new, high-quality housing to the Madison area,” said Dave Cocagne, Vermilion’s CEO. “We appreciate the tenacity of JLL to source the equity capital for the project. We’re also pleased to continue our long-standing relationship with CIBC, which will be providing construction financing for the project.”

Located on the northeast side of Atlanta, the development includes a four-story wood frame building with a masonry and siding exterior designed by architecture firm Dynamik Design.

“The completion of Veranda at Assembly is a significant milestone for The Integral Group and the City of Doraville,” said Vicki Lundy Wilbon, President of Real Estate at The Integral Group. “We delivered a beautiful, amenity-rich community of 100 upscale residential units. Community amenities include a bistro/café, fitness room, yoga room, fourth-floor outdoor terrace, and dog park. Units are offered in one- and two-bedroom floorplans and feature granite countertops, kitchen islands, Energy-Star kitchen appliance packages, nine-foot ceilings, and luxury vinyl-tile flooring.

The Integral Group selected SK Collaborative as a consultant to finalize plans and review associated materials and installation to obtain Energy Star and EarthCraft Certifications.
